THE TIN BUILDING COMING NEXT WEEK?
The Tin Building, the reconstructed seaport fish market building reimagined as a food hall by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, will open on August 4, according to a neighbor who had inside information. Jean-Georges’ Tin Building will be a 53,000 square foot market with several restaurants and a central market offering seafood, meat, cheese, fresh produce and local specialties.
HUDSON RIVERKIDS IS BACK
Hudson River Park will be offering a free family event called Hudson RiverKids Monday through August at Pier 25 at 4 p.m. There will be magic, music, dance performances as well as child-friendly dance and performance art. No need to register. See the full program here.
GOVERNORS ISLAND SEEKS MORE COMMERCIAL TENANTS
The Trust for Governors Island today released two RFPs inviting event, dining and hospitality venue operators to lease, redevelop and operate multiple buildings in the island’s historic district. The idea is to support year-round public use of the island and expand visitor facilities while breathing new life into 50 iconic former military buildings.
