MINNEAPOLIS – Not to scare you, but last week Fortune Fish & Gourmet wrapped up National Seafood Month and kicked off Halloween by hosting over 75 influencers for a “Celebration of Certified Scary Good Seafood” at its store in Coastal Seafoods retail in Minneapolis.
Held on October 26 with the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), the invitation-only gathering brought together food media, social media personalities, seafood producers, distributors and retail buyers to experience and taste a delicious range of responsibly raised and ASC certified seafood. by the Coastal Seafoods culinary team.
In just a few hours, Fortune, Coastal and ASC staff transformed the Coastal Seafood retail space into a Halloween tribute with fog machines, fire pits, fake fish skeletons, spider webs and clever and spooky seafood crates overflowing with frozen drinks and ASC-certified seafood.
As speakers Fortune, Coastal and ASC shared insights into their mutual commitment to advancing aquaculture from farm to fork, guests – many of whom wore seafood-themed costumes and apparel – ASC-certified seared Aqquua grouper feast with Japanese vinaigrette; Seared Verlasso Salmon with Grilled Corn Salsa; Del Pacifico Peruvian Shrimp Ceviche; Grouper Aqquua cured with cucumber and dill; Del Pacifico Shrimp Toast; and Verlasso Salmon Gravlax, the latter a long-awaited reprisal of Coastal’s beloved gravlax, which is now available in stores.

The event also marked an opportunity for Fortune Fish and Coastal Seafood to highlight its month-long “Fall in Love with Farmed Seafood This Season” promotion, which runs through November 15 and includes:

The ‘Scary Good Certified Seafood Celebration’ and ongoing ‘Fall in Love With Farmed Seafood This Season’ promotions mark the first year of ASC’s first-ever North American marketing campaign, which will continue its national expansion for another 2-4 year.
Throughout 2022, ASC hosted food festival sampling stations, restaurant dining events, grocery store collaborations and other online and in-person activations with a particular focus on Minneapolis markets. , Miami and Philadelphia.
