A hit with kids and adults alike, fish sticks are the go-to comfort food for many.

Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis Parmesan Fish Sticks take the beloved dish to another level, using salmon and the familiar, delicious flavor of grated Parmesan cheese.

Here’s how to make the Italian-American chef’s easy dish and hot sauce.

De Laurentiis Parmesan Fish Sticks require no unusual ingredients

The chef’s recipe calls for center-cut salmon fillet, all-purpose flour, egg whites, grated parmesan, seasoned breadcrumbs and olive oil for drizzling.

The De Laurentiis dip is served with low fat mayonnaise, low fat plain yogurt, Dijon mustard and chopped fresh chives or parsley.

Chef’s Fish Sticks will become a favorite with kids and adults alike

De Laurentiis wrote in his book Eat better, feel better the importance of working more seafood into our regular diets.

“I know a lot of people are hesitant to cook fish at home because they’re afraid the cooking smells will linger, or they don’t have a reliable fish store nearby, or they don’t like everything. just not the fish,” she said.

While these are all understandable reasons not to eat fish, the chef says, there are just as many reasons to make an effort to try it regularly.

“Fish can be an incredible source of clean, lean protein (and omega-3 fatty acids); it rarely takes more than 10 minutes to cook, and you can pair it with so many different flavors that there will be certainly a recipe that will make you a converted fish.

His parmesan fish sticks are one of those recipes. Pieces of fresh salmon, cut evenly, are coated in seasoned flour, coated in egg whites, then in a Parmesan cheese mixture.

Instead of frying them, De Laurentiis calls for placing them on a baking sheet, drizzling them with olive oil, then baking them for 20 minutes in a 450-degree F oven.

Combine the sauce ingredients and this delicious, crispy meal is ready to serve! The Simply Giada star says these fish sticks can also be served with ketchup, marinara sauce, pesto, ranch dressing or salad dressing on the side.

The chef’s recipe for chewy and delicious salmon meat coated in crispy breadcrumbs and served with a tangy sauce has won acclaim from many Food Network reviewers.

“I tried this recipe with my 4 year old son and he loved it. Very easy to make, didn’t take very long and it was fun to make with my son. He was very excited to try them, and when we finally made it, it was a big hit. You’ll love making it with your kids,” wrote one home cook.
