Organic Soup Kitchen Crab Boil Raises $ 30,000 | Good for Santa Barbara

On June 5, Organic Soup Kitchen’s Crab Boil program raised $ 30,000 to help low-income cancer patients, the elderly and the chronically ill on the organization’s waiting list.

As the demand for nutritional services increases and funding decreases, Organic Soup Kitchen has been forced to put people on a waiting list for its services.

The Crab Boil is the first in a series of pop-up fundraisers that will provide a vital revenue stream to support the home delivery of Organic Soup Kitchen’s immune-boosting SoupMeals to Santa Barbara’s most vulnerable residents.

“It was wonderful to see the community come together for a safe outdoor celebration to support those on our waiting list,” said Andrea Slaby, COO of Organic Soup Kitchen.

“The flood of new customers has not slowed since the onset of the pandemic, and our fundraising efforts will be critical to our ability to continue to feed and ensure food security for the thousands of residents facing medical challenges. and financial, ”she said.
